Old Head of Kinsale
Old Head of Kinsale
Situated outside the picturesque town of Kinsale, Co. Cork, this stunning headland reaches 2 miles out towards the Atlantic Ocean. In private ownership, this world-renowned golf course provides some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in the world while the operational lighthouse still sits at the headland since its creation in 1853.
Behind the Image
My time living in Cork gave me access to a plethora of incredible locations within relatively easy reach. Old Head of Kinsale was one such area I would frequent and upon a repeat visit, I was fortunate to capture this scene that I had envisioned of the area for a long time. As the sunlight illuminated the rust-coloured cliffside, the landscape appears to reach far out into the ocean with the French shorelines next beyond the horizon.
