Behind the Image

With icy conditions and much of the country subject to sub-zero temperatures, I knew the opportunity to capture misty conditions rising from water would occur as the sun began to rise. I intended on a similar composition for some time but had not encountered the right scene to capture it. This particular morning, spent amongst the surroundings of Cong in Co. Mayo, I discovered this particular branch overhanging the Cong river. With a strong surge from the river and the scene backlit by the rising sun, each element came together delightfully.
