Behind the Image

Sometimes some of my favourite images come from efforts least made. I’m fortunate to live close to the Corrib on one side of me and Ross Lake on the other with lovely woodland in between. This particular morning we were blessed with rather thick fog coverage and no wind which meant I was quick to head to the lake nearby. After stumbling off the beaten path I emerged at the lakeside and immediately began to selectively compose intimate images of the lake all while the dreamy atmosphere ebbed and flowed across the scene, just giving me glimpses of the elements in my surroundings.
