I am lucky that the heart of Connemara lies within easy reach for me and nowhere more iconic than Derryclare Lough. Looking to trial my new camera system, I opted for the quintessential classic Pine Island as my subject of choice. I rose 2 hours before sunrise to travel and scout the location and was delighted when the soft autumnal sunrise draped against the Twelve Bens behind Pine Island, only flattering this stunning landscape even more in this panoramic image.
