Burren Fog
Burren Fog
An incredibly still Spring morning and perfect conditions give rise to the blanket of fog that almost envelops the entirety of Mullaghmore in the Burren National Park, Co. Clare.
Behind the Image
Burren National Park has, from my observations, an inordinate susceptibility to foggy conditions. Whether this is due to the prevalence of rocky terrain or its geographical location slightly further inland, it is nearly always a go-to location for me when there is a likelihood of fog predicted. On this particular winter morning, I was fortunate to spend an entire 6 hours capturing various scenes of beauty, both large and small. With Mullaghmore’s modest peak obscured by the dense covering of low-lying fog, I wanted to change the perspective by using the drone to capture the view above the fog layer. Thankfully a crystal clear morning and the sheer volume of fog coverage showed that the peak sat amongst a perfect blanket of fog, displaying its iconic undulating form.
