Croagh Patrick Gold
Croagh Patrick Gold
The last of the winter light drapes across the hillside of Knockmore casting an intense golden glow with Croagh Patrick’s iconic form set against a backdrop of pink and purple hues.
Behind the Image
Sometimes an image occurs not because it was sought, but because of the classic combination of the right place at the right time. During a family hike up the colloquially known ‘Big Hill’ on Clare Island, as we descended on the southwestern side of the mountain, we had held our resistance to return from the mountain early while we had daylight left. Upon seeing the iconic Croagh Patrick in the distance and the intense red sunlight draped across the hillside, I took a short moment to capture this strong composition.
