Dog's Bay
Dog's Bay
Spring sunlight fades over the tranquil Dog’s Bay in County Galway. One of Connemara’s most beautiful beaches and certainly one of the most iconic in the west of Ireland.
Behind the Image
Galway hosts a large variety of notable places, and one of the most recognisable in southern Connemara is Dog’s Bay. Having arduously dredged through some of the densest, boggy, heather-laden terrain to summit Erris Beg, the modest 300m hill, I was treated to this glorious panoramic view over Galway’s iconic tombolo. With long beautiful summer light setting in the Northwest and draping over these two beaches, the soft light just clipped the edges of the dunes as it began its descent below the horizon.
