Carrowteige Stacks
Carrowteige Stacks
Sea stacks emerge from the sands of Rinroe Beach located in Carrowteige, Co. Mayo. This unfrequented region of North Co. Mayo retains an undisturbed beauty so often associated with the Irish landscape, peaceful in its general abscence of human intervention, yet steadfast in anticipation for the harsh Atlantic weatherfronts it so often endures.
Behind the Image
Carrowteige in Co. Mayo is one of those remote areas of Ireland that maintains a quiet, rugged sense of beauty. A coastline that rises quickly to prominent cliffs to the north, with views stretching out beyond the Atlantic’s horizon. Along its coast, lies the beautiful beach of Rinroe, with remnants of sea stacks dressing the shoreline as the waves lap against the foot of a gradually looming cliff edge. This particular evening had a soft tranquillity to it. While not blessed with striking sunlight, the softness of the overcast sky, paired with the colour of a lapping ocean current, really complimented the scene captured here.
