Overlooking the stunning waters around Bertra Beach, a lone wanderer takes a stroll along the shore in Co. Mayo. The last of the evening’s light illuminates the clouds and in the distance, the Nephin Beg mountains catch the sun atop their peaks.

Clew Bay is arguably one of the most unique and beautiful locations in Ireland. Having visited Bertra Beach on numerous occasions, this popular site for runners, dog walkers, and other activities is held in high regard within the locality for obvious reasons. It is difficult to capture the essence of this area without resorting to an aerial perspective, which was I ultimately had planned when setting out to photograph this location. I was blessed with a long summery sunset looking out further west toward Clare Island at the mouth of Clew Bay and 360º views of Croagh Patrick, Newport, and beyond.
