Connemara National Park
Connemara National Park
Dawn during Spring gracefully bathes Connemara’s most recognised mountain, Diamond Hill in beautiful warm light, while the peak of Knockbrack is gradually illuminated.
Behind the Image
Having camped on Benbaun in preparation for the morning light, the sweeping vista westwards towards Connemara National Park was always in mind with the angle of the sun during April. Initially, the conditions were not favourable, bands of rain and heavy clouds from the southwest continuously blew over the region and much of the sunlight from the East was blocked also. As ever, time and luck are an ally to landscape photography and during a brief window, clouds dissipated above Diamond Hill and Benbaun while the sun broke through to illuminate their northeasterly facades.
